Andrea Jensen is a Traditional, wooden, Gaff Ketch. This means she is made completely of wood, has a gaff rigg and two masts, the fore mast being taller than the aft mast. The Gaff description refers to the wooden poles that are used to raise the heavy cotton sails. This was the traditional way sailing boats were rigged in years gone by. Andrea Jensen was built in Denmark in 1939 and fished, under sail,

for Herring until 1984.
